The housemates of missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop have been charged with her murder.

James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, were arrested tonight in the Bundaberg area, Queensland Police said.

They have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse.

Pheobe, 17, has not been seen or heard from since May 15.

Police said they had still not located her remains.

“Police have conducted several enquiries during their investigations, including multiple searches of Good Night Scrub National Park, forensic examinations of a Gin Gin property and vehicle,” police said.

“The remains of Pheobe Bishop have not been located to date. Detectives continue to investigate this matter, and physical searches will continue as needed as information is provided.”

Earlier in the day, Wood had been released without charge after being questioned by police.

Wood and Bromley are due to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court tomorrow.

They were allegedly the last people to see Pheobe, who never checked in for her flight from Bundaberg Airport to Western Australia on the morning of May 15.

Pheobe was flying to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia.

According to police, she never checked in for her flight or entered the terminal.

Last week, police suspended their search of the Good Night Scrub National Park, about an hour away from where Pheobe was last seen, which had been a focus in the investigation.

All physical searches for the 17-year-old were suspended yesterday but police said more would be carried out “as needed and as information is provided”.
