A classic 1970s Ford Fairlane has been stolen from a Victorian town.

The car was taken from a carport at a home in Whittlesea, 40km northeast of Melbourne, between April 26 and May 6, according to Victoria Police.

The car was being restored by its owner before it was stolen.

It is estimated to be worth $25,000.

A burgundy-coloured front left quarter panel, ‘whitewall tyres’ and NSW registration plates make the car hard to miss.

Anyone with information about the car is asked to contact the authorities.
