Authorities fear another devastating day in Los Angeles as wildfires continue to blaze through the city.

LA residents are being told to expect wind gusts in excess of 80 to 100km per hour today, with the biggest fires currently uncontained.

Since the wildfires began earlier this week, 10 people have died and over 10,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed.

As of Friday over 153,000 people are under evacuation orders and 166,000 people are on standby.

Firefighters spent Thursday evening water bombing fires around Malibu, the Pacific Palisades, and Eaton, in an attempt to control the blaze. However, one of two ‘Super Scooper’ water bombers is out of action today after being struck by a drone.

A curfew of 6pm to 6am is also in place for fire zones to reduce looting.

“‘We are not screwing around with this,” said Los Angeles Sheriff Robert Luna.

“We don’t want anyone taking advantage of our residents that have already been victimised.”

The death toll is expected to climb, as dangerous fire conditions are expected to return in full force on Monday.
