In the northern suburbs of Adelaide, a couple faces serious charges involving alleged child sex offences, including accusations related to bestiality.
The investigation into these grave allegations led to the uncovering of an online brothel allegedly operated within their residence. Law enforcement officials, acting on suspicions of online child exploitation, conducted a raid on the property.
During this operation, officers, in collaboration with the RSPCA, confiscated several electronic devices. These devices reportedly contained evidence of child exploitation as well as materials implicating the couple in acts of bestiality.
Authorities are currently conducting a thorough analysis of additional electronic devices retrieved from the scene to further assess the extent of the alleged offences.
It will also be alleged the home was being used as a brothel.
A 39-year-old man was  arrested and charged with possessing child exploitation material, managing a brothel, bestiality and ill treatment of an animal.
A 33-year-old woman was also charged with bestiality and ill treatment of an animal.
Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick said the alleged crimes were abhorrent.
“These allegations represent a heinous and blatant breach of the law and a profound violation of community standards and expectations,” he said.
“This arrest follows an investigation by dedicated specialist detectives who are committed to protecting children from those who seek to exploit and abuse children online.”
Both suspects were granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
