Exclusive: There are fresh calls to deport a violent British national who was convicted of attacking his pregnant partner and her children.
Phillips, 41, was sentenced to nine months and 21 days behind bars and upon release in Victoria he was placed on a 15-month community corrections order.
He applied to serve the rest of his sentence in Mackay.
After his interstate move to live with his parents, Philips was charged with assaulting another partner.
He was found not guilty on the common law assault charge on Monday.
Hams claims her violent ex-partner has been allowed to roam free in Queensland with no proper surveillance from the justice system.
“[He’s been] working in mines, making a fortune, no curfews, the address he had down with the corrections officer wasn’t even where he was living,” Hams told 9News.
Now, photos have emerged of Phillips allegedly performing the illegal Nazi salute.
”He’s dangerous and he shouldn’t be here,” Hams said.
While Phillips is no longer living in Gippsland in Victoria, Hams said Queensland is not far enough.
She is calling for her ex-partner to be deported from Australia.
”I’m sure if a politician or whoever gets to choose… an immigration officer, had a family that were in a situation like us, there wouldn’t be any questions asked, they’d be gone,” Hams said.
“As a woman or anyone in Australia, we deserve to be safe and protected. And when you have animals that are repetitive animals out there like this, and they qualify to be reported, why are you keeping them here?
“Why are you making us live in fear like this?”
The office for the Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke told 9News it is now looking into this case.
