An aged care worker has been charged with sexually assaulting residents in a south-west Sydney facility.

The 46-year-old woman is accused of assaulting seven elderly residents at the Macarthur region aged care home where she worked.

As part of an investigation, detectives seized her phone, which allegedly contained videos taken at the facility depicting sexual abuse, which had also been sent to her partner, a 54-year-old man.

She was charged yesterday morning at Silverwater Correctional Complex and refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday.

She faces four counts of aggravated sexual assault, 11 counts of aggravated sexual touching, two counts of sexual touching, 13 counts of recording an intimate image without consent, nine counts of distributing an intimate image without consent and four counts of possessing bestiality material.
