They allegedly arrived on bike at Jean Parry’s house and left in a stolen car, using it to run over its owner.

“He’s approached the vehicle, there’s been some form of altercation, she’s ended up on the ground and subsequently as the male has departed the address he’s driven over her,” Detective Sergeant Jason Hutchinson told 9News.

Parry, who is aged in her late 70s, had just returned to her Hamilton Hill home after a walk around 8am on Friday.

Police say that’s when the pair spotted the Honda Civic in her driveway before allegedly taking off in the vehicle, running the senior over in the process.

Police say Parry suffered a broken leg. She was in a stable condition but shaken after the ordeal.

Two men, aged 24 and 22, were arrested in North Coogee and have been charged with a number of offences including aggravated grievous bodily harm. They will face court on Saturday.

Detectives don’t believe the men were preying on the elderly woman.

Instead, they allegedly pounced when Parry left the car running to open her front gate. The ordeal over in just a matter of seconds.
