Two men have been arrested after a police pursuit in Melbourne.

A 26-year-old man from Cranbourne and a 35-year-old Narre Warren South man have been taken into custody after driving an alleged stolen car on Power Road in Doveton just before 2am today.

Police allege the car evaded officers and drove through Officer before being dumped on Darwin Way in Pakenham, where the offenders allegedly fled on foot.

The pair were arrested shortly after on Botanic Drive and are now being interviewed by Homicide Squad detective in relation to four separate incidents.

The men are being questioned over the death of a man in Ivanhoe on Tuesday and three alleged crimes on Thursday: a fatal shooting in Derrimut, a stabbing in Wyndom Vale and attempted carjacking in South Yarra.

The cause of his death is yet to be determined, but it is being treated as suspicious.

He died a short time later and police are treating it as a targeted attack.

The third incident involved a 27-year-old woman who was found with stab wounds on Arbory Walk in Wyndom Vale on the same day.

The men are also being interviewed over an alleged carjacking.

No charges have been laid.
