“I rushed out to help and saw the car overturned on the tracks,” a witness recounted to 9News.

The female driver was trapped inside the vehicle as bystanders urgently tried to rescue her from the wreckage.

However, their brave efforts had to be halted when a train was seen approaching, forcing them to retreat for safety.

”We had to quickly get up to safety and we just watched helplessly as the train just smashed into the car,” the witness added.

Incredibly, the woman in the car only suffered minor injuries.

She was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.

Nobody on the train was injured.
