Around 7 a.m., a call was placed to the police.

Police officers quickly responded, arriving at the beach to secure the scene with tape and retrieve the remains.

Walter, aged 32, went missing while snorkeling with a trio of friends at Ledge Point on New Year’s Day.

The group, intending to catch crayfish, ended up separated under unclear circumstances.

Authorities initiated an extensive search effort at this well-known tourist destination, utilizing aerial surveillance and local boats.

Police drones and the helicopter scanned from the sky as officers searched the sand and divers scoured the water.
