Child killer Arthur Freeman has been rushed to hospital after he was assaulted in jail

Authorities are currently probing an incident at the Western Plains Correctional Centre in Lara, near Geelong, where Freeman was attacked. This occurred yesterday, and he was subsequently transported to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening.

Freeman is serving a life sentence following his conviction for the murder of his four-year-old daughter, Darcey. The tragic event took place in January 2009, when Darcey was thrown off Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge on the day she was set to start school.

Since April 2011, Freeman has been confined in a maximum-security facility, where he is serving a 32-year term without the possibility of parole.

In 2011, Freeman was involved in a physical altercation within the prison. Reports indicated that he reacted defensively against fellow inmates after enduring ongoing verbal abuse.
