Intense Search Launched Following Fatal Shooting in Melbourne’s Inner North

Detectives from the homicide squad are currently probing a deadly shooting that occurred last night in Melbourne’s inner northern suburb.

Officers from a local police station rushed to the scene after gunfire was reported near the intersection of Brunswick and King William Streets in Fitzroy, just after the clock struck midnight.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from critical injuries.

Upon arrival, a male was located with life-threatening injuries.It is understood a vehicle fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is yet to be identified.

No arrests have been made.

A car allegedly fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests have been made.

Police are looking for at least one offender.

Investigations are still under way as police investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
