Police arrived at the scene to find the wreckage, but could not locate the driver.

But it was not long until the driver came back to the crash site and was met by officers.

The 27-year-old woman was arrested and breath-tested, allegedly blowing A BAC of 0.152, which is more than three times the legal limit.

She was charged with drink driving and using her phone while driving.

Matthew Souksoy, the owner of the parked car, is devastated that his vehicle was totalled because his insurance had just run out.

He had been planning to go overseas, but is now thousands of dollars out of pocket.

He said the crash was “pretty dumb”.

“How are you hitting something at 2am? (I’m) kind of speechless,” he told 9News.

Thien Nguyen, the postal driver whose van was hit, said he was left unable to work.

The accused driver will face court in November.
