Across the globe, temperatures remain high outside the Middle East, while North Korea has conducted a provocative missile test involving cluster munitions.

According to North Korean state media, leader Kim Jong Un, accompanied by his daughter and potential successor, personally oversaw the missile launch over the weekend.

The launches did not go unnoticed, as authorities in South Korea, Japan, and the United States all detected activity emanating from North Korea during this period.

Reports from KCNA, North Korea’s official news agency, detailed that Kim observed the launch of five upgraded Hwasong-11 Ra ballistic missiles. These missiles were equipped with cluster bomb warheads and fragmentation mine warheads.

Allegedly, these missiles successfully hit their designated target on an island, as per the reports.

“It is of weighty significance in military actions to boost the high-density striking capability,” Kim said, according to KCNA.

Israel accused Iran of using cluster munitions in the recent conflict, which may have prompted Kim to show off North Korea’s capabilities in the area.
