New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her awkward hot mic moment has unwittingly landed a men’s charity a whopping $100,100 donation.

Posting to her Facebook on Thursday, the PM revealed the Prostate Cancer Foundation would be getting the incredible donation after a signed copy of the official parliament record of her calling conservative MP David Seymour an ‘arrogant p****’ would be put up for auction.

‘Can’t say I expected this…..a faux pas with the old mic in parliament has turned into $100,100 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation,’ the post read.

‘My thanks to David for being a good sport and to everyone who placed a bid. And to everyone, Merry Christmas!’

Ms Ardern was caught whispering the insult directed at Mr Seymour, leader of the ACT Party, under her breath in parliament on December 13.

A microphone in the room picked up the prime minister saying ‘he’s such an arrogant p****’ in reference to Mr Seymour as she retook her seat after answering a spiky question from the conservative MP.

Mr Seymour petitioned the speaker of New Zealand’s parliament for an apology from Ms Ardern, which meant her comment was entered into the official record known as the Hansard.

Ms Ardern later texted an apology to Mr Seymour, who then came up with the idea of joining forces to raise money for charity by auctioning off a printed transcript of the heated exchange.

Mr Seymour said the unlikely pair, who sit on opposite sides of the political spectrum, were able to put aside their differences and see the funny side to the tense moment.

‘After having a laugh about it, Jacinda Ardern and I are going to auction a signed copy of the Hansard (official record) of her calling me an “arrogant p****” to raise money for pricks everywhere, a great cause, the Prostate Cancer Foundation,’ Mr Seymour posted on Twitter on December 15.

Ms Ardern’s Facebook followers responded cheerfully to the announcement of the $100,100 donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

‘A great outcome,’ one comment read.

‘This has been a great story to end the year on. So good to have a laugh.’

The Prostate Council Foundation NZ said in a statement on their website it welcomed ‘the fundraising aspect of the transaction between ACT Leader David Seymour and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’ but also urged a reminder to New Zealand men ‘the best gift their health can receive may just be a little pr**k’.

A recent poll showed support for Ms Ardern had plummeted, as she recorded her lowest approval rating since she took office in 2017.

Labour’s popularity fell to 33 per cent while the Nationals rose to 38 per cent.
