Kettle Recalled Due to Significant Design Flaw

A travel kettle has been recalled after it was revealed to have a design flaw that could cause serious injuries.

The Australian product safety regulator has announced a recall for the Valley Sisters’ DUCK4X4 Travel Folding Electric Kettle. The decision follows the discovery that the kettle lacks an automatic shut-off feature, preventing it from turning off once the water reaches boiling point.

This absence of an automatic shut-off mechanism poses potential hazards.

Customers are urged to stop using the Valley Sisters kettle immediately.

The recall notice highlights the “risk of serious burn injuries or property damage if the kettle overheats and ignites a fire.”

Manufactured in China, this kettle was distributed through the online retailer Oz Off Road.

The product was available for purchase from November 1, 2024, until March 30, 2025.

Any customers who own the kettle have been urged to stop using it immediately and to contact Oz Off Road to return the product for a full refund.
