A major highway, known for its heavy traffic, has been closed in both directions following a serious multi-vehicle collision.
Currently, the condition of those involved remains undisclosed.
Emergency response teams, including six units from the Country Fire Authority, along with police, SES, and ambulance services, are actively managing the situation at the scene.
This highway is a critical route, accommodating thousands of trucks daily.
In a statement, VicTraffic advised, “Northbound drivers should take a detour via the Goulburn Valley Highway, passing through Seymour to Shepparton, and then return via Benalla on the Midland Highway.”
“Southbound should exit at Violet Town and use the Murchison-Violet Town Road to the Goulburn Valley Highway, and rejoin the Hume in Seymour.”
The detour would add about 45 minutes of driving time for those on the road.
