A 42-year-old man has been charged with aggravated burglary after a man in his 90s was found dead at a home in Morwell, in Victoria’s Gippsland region.
Police were called to a property in Maryvale Road about 9.20pm on Thursday after reports of a robbery.
When they searched the property, they found a man in his 90s dead inside.
Searching the nearby area, police found another man, who was arrested and taken into police custody.
Today police charged a 42-year-old man with aggravated burglary.
Police said the 42-year-old does not have any fixed address.
He has been held in police custody and will face Latrobe Magistrates Court on Monday.
Investigators have conducted a postmortem examination of the 90-year-old man, but the results are still pending.
The police investigation is ongoing.
