The man has since been charged with one count of using internet to procure child under 16 and was released on strict bail conditions.

He is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 10.

Queensland Police detective acting inspector Cameron Burke said arrests of this nature highlighted the risks posed to children by online predators.

“It’s important that parents and caregivers are aware of what apps, settings and platforms their children are using, and actively supervise their online activity,” Burke said.

“Our number one priority is ensuring the safety of children, if you encounter suspicious or inappropriate behaviour towards a child online, we urge you to report it immediately.”
