Man arrested after woman's death at Melbourne home

A man has been arrested after the suspicious death of a woman at a home in Melbourne’s north.

Emergency services were called to reports that a woman had been found unresponsive at a property on Gottloh Street in Epping about 5.50pm yesterday.

The 44-year-old Epping woman, who appeared to have been seriously assaulted, died at the scene despite the work of paramedics.

Police are investigating the woman’s death. (Nine)

A 50-year-old Lalor man was arrested last night and will be interviewed by police.

It’s understood the man and woman are known to each other.

A crime scene was set up and the investigation continues today.

Gottloh Street and neighbouring streets remain cordoned off.

Early today, police towed away a silver Toyota Hilux ute, 9News understands.
