It was the ultimate show of romance for a revhead, as Brisbane’s biggest car lover, “married” his 1971 Ford Falcon XY.

Owner Giz calls his car “sweetheart”.

He has three cars, but this is his favourite, or so he tells her.

When it came to the ceremony, there was no bridal march, but rather a bit of burning rubber.

His sweetheart rolled down the aisle, he recited his vows.

He is always with her, even through the tough times, and he says there have been a few disagreements, a few fights, and a few makeups.

“I will keep the spark between us alive no matter how many times I have to jump-start you,” he said.

Now he has been married for 30 years to his wife Rachel, and he has two kids, but this isn’t an affair.

His family is fully aware of the relationship that’s blossomed in the garage.

“I can share him, as long as she stays down the shed,” his wife said.

This wasn’t a legally binding marriage, but rather a Valentine’s Day stunt for radio station Triple M.

Gizz now has two loves of his life to shop for tomorrow.

When asked where he would be going for his honeymoon, he said he’d have to ask his real wife, but perhaps a scenic drive in the Ford Falcon would do the trick.”
