A 63-year-old man is in critical condition following an alleged attack involving a hammer at a hospital in Sydney’s inner west.
Authorities responded to an emergency call at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown around 12:15 a.m. today, after receiving reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, police were informed that a woman had allegedly attacked the man within the hospital premises.
Sources indicate that the individuals involved were acquainted with each other.
The man sustained severe head injuries after reportedly being struck with a hammer and is currently fighting for his life.
The 46-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station.
She was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will front court today after being refused bail.
