A multi-million dollar home on the outskirts of Sydney has been gutted by a fierce blaze months after another fire was started in suspicious circumstances.

More than 30 firefighters were called to Dominics Place in Grasmere, near Camden in Sydney’s southwest about 5.30am after neighbours noticed the home alight.

“It was a very aggressive fire. I can tell by the damage to some of the materials that temperatures exceeded 660 degrees,” Fire and Rescue NSW’s Kevin Smith said.

“The second level of the house has predominantly fallen to the floor.”

Two dogs were however on the property at the time.

“They’ve been well fed and cared for by firefighters as part of their role this morning,” Smith said.

The home sits on an acre of land bought in 2005. It’s estimated to be worth more than $2.5 million.

It is the second time in the last few months firefighters have been called to the property.

In June, minor damage was caused after a fire started in suspicious circumstances.

Police are now working with firefighters to determine whether this morning’s blaze is also suspicious.
