McDonald’s is bringing its world-famous mini collectibles to Australia – sending fans wild over the major announcement.

The new Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal is landing Down Under on Thursday, August 28 after proving popular among diners in the US, Singapore, Canada and New Zealand.

What makes the launch special is the range of miniature versions of beloved McDonald’s iconic items – including the restaurant, register, Happy Meal box, red serving tray, drink dispenser, Drive-Thru, dining booth, garbage bin and more.

Each pocket-sized toy packed with interactive features including push buttons, sticker sheets and collector cards.

Kids and adults alike will get to take home a piece of Maccas, with 16 mini collectables to collect, including a golden Happy Meal box and the delivery truck.

‘A Happy Meal has always been a moment of joy, a spark of imagination, and a shared experience for families,’ Amanda Nakad, marketing director of menu and brand for McDonald’s Australia, said.

‘With Lil McDonald’s, we’re celebrating the creativity of our families who’ve turned living rooms into Drive-Thrus and backyard cubbies into McDonald’s kitchens.

‘This Happy Meal is a tribute to that make-believe magic – helping families create new memories, big and small, that last forever.’

Fans from around the world have been collecting the miniature toys, with many saying the ‘nostalgic’ collectibles are taking them down memory lane.

‘I got the tray and it was literally the best thing that happened to me today,’ one diner said.

Meanwhile, those who haven’t seen the collectibles are thrilled by the news, with one saying: ‘I need them all in my life.’

‘I absolutely need all of these! McDonald’s was my very first job and these are so nostalgic! Let the hunt begin,’ one said.

Each Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal includes a choice of three or six-piece Chicken McNuggets, Hamburger, Cheeseburger or Grilled Chicken Snack Wrap.

The meal is paired with Apple Slices or Small Fries and a Small Drink, all served in a specially designed Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal box.

But hurry, these mini treasures won’t be around for long.
