Authorities are appealing to the public for any leads regarding the identity of a man whose body was recovered from a Melbourne river.
The man’s body was found last month in the Maribyrnong River located to the north-west of Melbourne.
Officers were alerted to an unresponsive man floating in the water near Canning Street, Avondale Heights, around 11 a.m. on Valentine’s Day.
Unfortunately, by the time the police reached the location, the man had already passed away.
Investigators have confirmed that the circumstances surrounding his death appear to be non-suspicious.
Despite extensive enquiries by detectives, the man’s identity remains a mystery.
Police are now appealing to the public for any information that may help identify him.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, with dark hair and facial hair, and several distinctive tattoos.
A ‘Mr Horsepower’ tattoo and ‘Mum 1964 – 2006’ are inked on his right forearm.
His left forearm is tattooed with an outline of black flames.
The man is believed to be between the ages of 21 and 50.
He was wearing a dark shirt with ‘BARBER’ insignia, a studded belt, black jeans, black socks and a silver necklace when he was found.
