A brazen drive-by shooting unfolded near the Fitzroy Police Station, which was not operational at the time.
A solitary officer, present at the station, quickly responded to the incident after hearing what sounded like one or two gunshots.
Upon arrival, the officer discovered an individual named Good, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Good was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a swift turn of events, authorities apprehended a 21-year-old man from Heidelberg at Melbourne Airport early this morning in connection with the shooting.
He was interviewed and charged with one count of murder.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
Two other men, a 19-year-old from Heidelberg West and a 20-year-old from Bundoora were charged with murder on January 11.
Both men were remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on June 15.
Two men were critically injured after a group of about seven men armed with machetes and knives attacked them outside a restaurant about 11.45pm.
