Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart will be farewelled with full police honours at a private ceremony at the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley.
Senior Constable De Waart’s funeral will take place on September 5, while Detective Leading Senior Constable Thompson will be farewelled on September 8.
The pair died on a property in Porepunkah, about 300km from Melbourne, when they and a third officer were ambushed while serving a warrant for alleged child sex offences to Dezi Freeman.
The third officer was seriously wounded and is recovering in hospital, while the manhunt to locate Freeman, who fled the scene, continues.
