Authorities are currently delving into a hit-and-run case in Adelaide, where a vehicle dramatically collided with a laundromat, narrowly missing a cleaner and a child inside.
This unsettling event unfolded around 8 p.m. yesterday, leaving behind significant destruction at the Yorktown Road location in Elizabeth Park.
The cleaner, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared her harrowing experience, recounting the ordeal as profoundly distressing.
“I’m still in shock,” she confessed, reflecting on her near encounter with danger.
The vehicle involved, identified as a Holden sedan, didn’t just crash into the establishment once. It reversed and struck the building a second time before making a hasty escape from the scene.
“Maybe he accidentally (did) this,” the cleaner, who wished to remain anonymous, said.Â
“I’m not sure what’s happened with him… because he hit (the building) a few times.”
Police located the vehicle in Craigmore, however, the driver remains at large.
The laundromat had recently replaced the window after a customer accidentally broke it last week.Â
The business continued to operate today but it’s believed the damage bill will exceed $5000.
