An intersection in Sydney’s inner west resembled a wrecking yard after a speeding driver slammed into four cars before bursting into flames.

The crash in Five Dock about midnight last night was so intense emergency crews are stunned everyone involved was able to walk away.

The driver’s sedan burst into flames but somehow no one was injured.

The black Subaru slams into the back of one car stopped at the red, as the momentum launches it into three others.

It’s not long before smoke and fire erupts.

Michael Van Den Bout from Fire and Rescue NSW said they were worried the blaze would spread to other cars.

Authorities are praising the safety features of the cars involved

“We were surprised, but pleasantly surprised that safety systems in modern cars work well,” Van Den Bout said

Despite six people being involved in this five-vehicle crash, no one was injured.

No charges have been laid either but police are set to talk with the driver of that black Subaru.
