An intensive police operation is currently unfolding in Gregory Hills, located in Sydney’s south-western region, following reports of gunfire from witnesses.
According to NSW Police, a “substantial police presence” has been established in the vicinity, close to Camden, with sections around the World Gym being secured.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.
The incident is believed to have occurred in the parking lot of the complex situated on Steer Road.
After the gunfire was heard, patrons took cover, with several witnesses reaching out to 2GB to report the situation.
One, Lucas, claimed to have seen two men with “balaclavas on their heads and handguns” open fire with “eight or nine shots”.
Another, Jack, said he had been in the Service NSW outlet in the centre when “about 10” gunshots were fired in the carpark.
He said all the people in the Service NSW centre were sheltering in a back room while waiting for the all-clear by police.
