The offenders fled on foot when police arrived and are yet to be found.

The 20-year-old victim was treated by paramedics.

A statement from a Bendigo Marketplace spokesperson said centre management was “incredibly disappointed” and said it has handed over security footage to police.

“We have begun a security review of Bendigo Marketplace and will be increasing the security presence across the centre to ensure our customers, staff and tenants feel safe when working or visiting,” it said.
