Authorities have discovered the body of a woman at a residence in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales.
Officers responded to a call for a welfare check at a home on Joshua Street in Goulburn, situated roughly 90 kilometers northeast of Canberra, around 7 a.m.
Upon arrival, local police had to forcibly enter the premises, where they subsequently found the deceased woman.

The woman has not been formally identified but police believe she was aged in her 40s.
Police set up a crime scene with detectives from the Hume Police District and the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report on the Crime Stoppers NSW website.
