One person is feared dead and several children are seriously injured after a school bus rolled north-west of Geelong in Victoria.
The bus is on its side near Hamilton Highway at Stonehaven, with students trapped inside.
A major emergency response team has been at the scene since 8.20am today and is still working to free the passengers.
Paramedics have rushed five patients to University Hospital Geelong and another five to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The school bus is believed to belong to the nearby Christian College.
A second Christian College bus arrived at the scene, believed to be taking the non-injured students to school.
The Hamilton Highway has been closed in both directions between Inverleigh and Geelong.
The Department of Transport said motorists have had almost 30km added to their journey as they are redirected through the Geelong Ring Road, Princes Highway and Inverleigh-Winchelsea Road.
Closures will remain in place until the crash is cleared and investigations are complete.
