A terrified mum has opened up about the frightening moment an arrow was shot into her home in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

On Thursday morning, single mother Mahek woke up to the sound of a window breaking.

An arrow, which she believes was shot by a man who lives in the area, had flown into her home at Parafield Gardens, crashing through a window and into a wall, just centimetres from her 11-year-old son’s pillow.

“It is absolutely horrible I don’t feel safe sitting in my lounge,” she told 9News.

“I am living with this fear day and night that something is going to happen… I am scared to use my lounge, I am scared to use my kitchen,” she added.

Mahek has now stopped her son from using their backyard and also fears for the safety of her pet cats.

It isn’t the first alleged incident with an arrow.

A month ago, Mehak claims she found one in her backyard and returned it only for the man to argue it was still on her property before becoming threatening.

“He jumped over the fence… and he started banging the fence as well,” she alleged.

“The first time he nearly killed the cats but the second time he’s nearly killed us,” her son said.

On Thursday, police arrested a 54-year-old Parafield Gardens man and charged him with endangering life, property damage and weapons offences.

Police say several bows, arrows and gel blasters were discovered and seized.

The man has been released on bail.
