Hanson has been absent from parliamentary sessions for two weeks to participate in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Social media images captured her seated with mining billionaire Gina Rinehart at the event, which featured prominent figures such as U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. Additionally, she attended former President Donald Trump’s Halloween celebration over the weekend.

During her speech, whose audience remains unidentified, Hanson praised Trump for allegedly revitalizing the United States. She simultaneously criticized Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s administration, describing it as a “socialist nightmare” plagued with numerous problems.
Contrasting Australia with the U.S., Hanson argued that her home country has devolved into “an economic and social tinderbox,” as she shared her right-wing views with American conservatives.
