Authorities responded to an incident on Ewing Road in Logan Central shortly before 6 p.m. (7 p.m. AEDT) yesterday, following reports of a man allegedly brandishing a knife and threatening the public.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to communicate with the 27-year-old suspect, but he allegedly advanced towards them with the weapon.
In response, the police discharged their firearms, striking the man.
On-site, officers administered first aid before the individual was transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital for medical attention.
Currently, he is in a serious yet stable condition.
It is understood police will speak to the man once he recovers.
Nobody else was injured during the incident.
A crime scene has been declared and the Ethical Standards Command and Crime and Corruption Commission will investigate the shooting.
