Rita Ora’s husband Taika Waititi gets her first initial tattooed on his hand

New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi has shown his commitment to his new wife Rita Ora by having the letter ‘R’ tattooed on his hand.

The 47-year-old director had the singer’s first initial inked at a tattoo parlour in Los Angeles on Wednesday, then posted a black and white photo of the results on Instagram.

He joked in the caption the ‘R’ actually stood for his favourite sport, rugby.

‘I love rugby,’ he wrote.

Despite his tongue-in-cheek caption, Taika’s followers knew the tattoo was for Rita.

‘Rugby Ora,’ one fan joked in the comments, while another simply wrote: ‘Rita.’

It comes after Taika and Rita put on a loved-up display at a pre-Grammys party in Los Angeles on Friday.

The Hot Right Now hit-maker stunned in a completely sheer dress that exposed her underwear.

Meanwhile, her husband kept things casual in a sports jacket. 

He joked the ‘R’ actually stood for his favourite sport, rugby, but his followers knew the tattoo was for Rita. (The couple is pictured at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 13, 2022)

The couple made their first public appearance since confirming their marriage in January. 

Rita described their nuptials as ‘perfect’ and ‘a special day’ as she promoted her single You Only Love Me, which was released on January 27.

Her next album is on the way, with a title yet to be revealed.
