Renowned British comedian Russell Brand has entered a plea of not guilty to new allegations of rape and sexual assault.
Brand, who is already facing similar accusations from four other women, appeared at Southwark Crown Court to deny the latest charges. According to the Crown Prosecution Service, these new allegations date back to 2009.
Back in April, the 50-year-old comedian was initially charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault.
Prosecutors claim these earlier charges, which involve four women, occurred between 1999 and 2005, with incidents reported in both the coastal town of Bournemouth and in London.
Earlier this year, Brand had already pleaded not guilty to the initial charges in a London courtroom.
A trial scheduled for June is expected to last four to five weeks.
