According to Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Glenn Sullivan, two rescue vessels recommenced their search efforts at 8 a.m. today.

“Our teams from Marine Rescue NSW are conducting searches under the guidance of the Marine Area Command,” he stated.

Inspector Sullivan noted earlier in the day, “A north-easterly wind is beginning to pick up, making conditions challenging for our crews, but they will persist with the search until they receive further instructions.”

The alert to emergency services was initially raised after personal belongings were discovered on the rocks at Bushrangers Bay around 7:40 p.m. on Monday.

Officers arrived and were told a 34-year-old man was last seen fishing on the rock shelf at about 2pm.

A search commenced shortly after, until about 11.30pm, when it was suspended to resume the following day.

The search continued yesterday morning, with assistance from the NSW Police Marine Area Command, NSW Police divers, Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Savers, Lifesaver helicopter and State Emergency Service.

It was later concluded at about 3.15pm due to poor weather conditions.

NSW Police Marine Area Command and Surf Life Saving will continue patrols over the following days.
