US police are looking for two women charged with dozens of counts of cruelty to animals.

Authorities report that charges have been filed following a shocking find at a residence on Britt Drive, dating back several months.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, the county’s Animal Control asked for assistance on September 17 to look into allegations of animal cruelty at the home.

Upon executing a search warrant, officials uncovered 25 dogs, many cramped into small cages filled with waste. The animals were described as “underweight and malnourished,” reflecting their dire living conditions.

Additionally, investigators discovered 13 plastic bags containing deceased dogs stored in three refrigerators within the home.

“Several of the deceased animals were in varying stages of decomposition,” the police department revealed in an official statement.

After conducting comprehensive veterinary assessments and necropsies, authorities issued 12 felony warrants and 14 misdemeanor warrants against Christine Abbott, age 67, and Donna Slavin, age 65.

Both women remain out of police custody.
