Shocking Sydney CBD Rampage: Teen Girls Charged in Violent Crime Spree

Two teenage girls have been charged after allegedly attacking a bus driver, a passenger, and two US tourists in the Sydney CBD yesterday.

Early Sunday morning, at approximately 8:15 a.m., police received reports of an incident at the busy intersection of George Street and Haymarket Street. Allegations emerged involving two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, and a 19-year-old man, who reportedly assaulted a 25-year-old bus driver and another male passenger of the same age.

After being removed from the bus, the situation escalated as the trio allegedly targeted two female tourists, aged 27 and 28, visiting from the United States, right there on the street. Fortunately, none of the alleged victims sustained injuries requiring medical attention.

Authorities quickly responded, arresting the two teenage girls at the scene. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old man received a directive to move on from the area. Legal actions followed, with the 16-year-old facing three charges of assault, and the 17-year-old charged with a single count of assault.

The two girls were arrested at the scene, and the 19-year-old man was issued a move-on direction.

The 16-year-old girl was charged with three counts of assault, while the 17-year-old girl was charged with one count of assault.

They were refused bail and will appear in court today. Investigations are ongoing.
