Sporting a $7500 handbag and designer sunglasses, while flanked by her lawyer and a friend, 54-year-old Vanessa Jacobs fronted Waverley Court today.

On her way home, she has been accused of drunkenly crashing into several parked cars, while driving with shredded tyres down Bellevue Road.

Shocked onlookers filmed as she allegedly slapped a police officer and refused to submit breath analysis.

Jacobs’ lawyer will submit evidence in June for a Section 14 mental health application.

This will aim to avoid a criminal conviction and instead focus on treatment or support for the defendant.
