Today, police were able to return some of her stolen possessions.

“I was so pleased when the police came this morning and they gave me my purse,” she told 9News.

“I don’t care about the money, but we got the plaque my son gave me after Bart passed away 12 months ago.

“I always have it in the purse, and luckily I’ve still got it.

“They didn’t ruin it or do anything, so I’m glad I got that back

“I can still use my purse and I don’t have to buy a new one.”

The plaque holds special meaning for the great-grandmother.

“We had been married 65 years, and he’s been the love of my life, the father of my children,” she said.

The plaque bears a photo of her late husband and an inscription.

It reads: “I will carry you with me until I see you again.”

Police are still investigating the theft.
