The storm, moving westward from the coastline, swept over the city’s south and west at around 5.30am, with south-west Sydney and the Blue Mountains being hit hard.

With the state experiencing significant rainfall and the looming threat of flash floods, SES State Duty Commander Sonya Oyston has called on drivers to exercise heightened caution on the roads today.
“Numerous instances of flash flooding have led to road closures, and some of these closures are likely to persist for an extended period,” she explained.
Oyston emphasized the importance of community patience and prudence, advising individuals to avoid driving on inundated roads under any circumstances.
