The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security said the girl was “extremely lucky” to have escaped.

“High water levels during the wet season make it easy for crocodiles to move into areas undetected.

More than 70 crocodiles have been removed by the territory’s crocodile management team this year, some as big as 3.2 metres.
