A 17-year-old is in critical condition following a car accident near Bendigo early this morning.

Authorities responded to an incident on Elmore-Raywood Road in Elmore shortly after 2:30 a.m. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road and overturned.

The car was carrying three passengers, including another 17-year-old and a 19-year-old.

Both companions sustained significant injuries and were transported to the hospital alongside the severely injured teen.

It is not known who was driving the car at the time, and it is not known what factors caused the crash.

Police are investigating and urging anyone with information or footage of the crash to contact Crime Stoppers.
