Security footage captures a harrowing scene on Bark Street in Park Ridge, Logan, where a wounded man can be seen staggering down the street, desperately calling out for assistance after what is believed to be a violent altercation.
In his search for help, the man eventually approached a home that had its lights on, hoping to find aid.
“When I came to the door, he had been stabbed on his right side… he was in a bad state,” a local resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted to 9News.
“There was blood everywhere,” she added, describing the alarming scene she encountered.
The woman admitted she was initially reluctant to open her door to the injured stranger, highlighting the fear and uncertainty in such unpredictable situations.
“I was scared, because I have kids.”
The man eventually left in a state of panic before police and paramedics found him on a footpath nearby about 10pm.
The 27-year-old from Regents Park suffered an alleged stab wound to the chest.
He was fighting for life at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police arrested the 35-year-old Park Ridge man at the home of the alleged fight and said they found a knife that had allegedly been used.
The man was charged with attempted murder.
Police said the pair knew each other.
The Park Ridge man was kept in custody to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court.
