In the early hours of the morning, a man’s life was tragically cut short despite the valiant efforts of paramedics who arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, their attempts to save him proved unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the location.
Aaron Gregory, a neighbor, recounted being jolted awake by urgent cries for help. “It was around 3 a.m. when I was suddenly awakened by the sound of someone screaming, ‘Help me, help me, help me,'” he shared. The distressing calls echoed through the quiet night, signaling that something was amiss.
In response to the emergency, police and paramedics swiftly descended upon the street, quickly securing the area surrounding the apartment block. The presence of emergency vehicles and personnel created a scene of heightened tension and activity.
For Gregory, the commotion outside his home was deeply unsettling. The flurry of activity and the desperate pleas he heard left a lasting impression, highlighting the gravity of the situation unfolding just beyond his doorstep.
Gregory said the commotion outside was alarming.
“A little bit unnerving but hearing the police sirens I was like it’s going to get sorted out pretty quickly,” he said.
Another resident, Sid Bangar, said he was stunned by the scale of the emergency response.
“I just pulled over and saw the cops, very unreal to see cops in my area,” he said.
Investigators believe the man did not live at the unit and are now trying to establish exactly what happened before the fall.
It’s understood that a party was under way inside the apartment before the incident, but by the time police and paramedics arrived, guests had already left.
Detectives are treating the death as suspicious and are not ruling out arrests or charges as inquiries continue.
Bangar said the incident had left neighbours “very heartbroken” and “very sad”.
A crime scene remains in place while police continue speaking with witnesses and reviewing evidence.
