The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has confirmed that it is offering consular support to the grieving family during this trying period.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family during this challenging time,” a spokesperson expressed in an official statement.
“Due to privacy obligations, we are unable to disclose further details,” the spokesperson added.
Police joined in the search efforts for the missing man, eventually finding him while a group of four attempted to perform CPR.
The emergency services quickly transported the man, who showed no apparent injuries, to the hospital, where he tragically passed away.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the man’s death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Local media reports the man had been working at a lodging facility.
It is believed the Sunshine Coast woman went into cardiac arrest after becoming stuck in a chairlift and suspended in the air.
