In a call for calm, a local official has urged residents to stay composed amidst recent tensions.

US Senator Tina Smith of Minnesota, a member of the Democratic Party, confirmed on social media platform X that the woman, known as Good, was a US citizen. Meanwhile, Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar, whose constituency covers Minneapolis, identified her as a “legal observer.”

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for Homeland Security, previously described Good as a “violent rioter.” She asserted that the agent responsible for her death acted in self-defense and to protect his colleagues.

“The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased,” McLaughlin stated on X. “The ICE officers who were injured are anticipated to make full recoveries.”

Opponents of Trump called for protests in several American cities, raising the risk that the killing could become a national flashpoint over his deployment of federal officers to Democratic-led cities and states.

Instead, the truck stops, and two officers exit and approach the vehicle on foot. As one of the agents orders the driver out of the SUV and grabs the door handle, the vehicle reverses briefly, and a third agent comes around to the front of the car from the passenger side.

The driver then goes forward, turning the wheels to the right, as if to head up the street away from the officers. The agent in front of the car pulls his weapon, steps back and fires, with the left front bumper coming close to his legs.
